Responsibilities:

• Review agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure company legal rights are protected.
• Where appropriate, manage litigation including insurance related claims, contractual disputes and employment issues, in conjunction with external advisers if required.
• Provide guidance on the legal implications of company strategy and execution and legal risks of business operations and ensure compliance with corporate regulatory matters.
• Undertake the company secretarial and records management function.
• Develop and maintain governance policies.

Qualifications:

• Experience as a corporate or commercial lawyer in a major law firm and/or commercial in-house environment, with at least 10 years’ experience in Senior Management.
• Experience in Banking or Financial Institution.
• Ability to build effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders – both internally and externally.
• Company secretarial and legal –knowledge in meeting procedures, creating and setting agendas, preparing governance papers and drafting minutes.
• Strong commercial and business acumen.
